In a project that took over two years to complete, the talented team at Pupila Studio embarked on a monumental mission: uncovering and celebrating the exceptional female graphic talent across Latin America. From their efforts emerged a breathtaking archive of over 500 women from 20 countries, each contributing unique perspectives and innovative designs that enrich the global graphic design landscape.

Being part of the first edition of La Tina, which highlights the work of 175 designers in a stunning printed publication, is one of the proudest moments of my career. This book is more than a collection of designs; it’s a kaleidoscope of voices, showcasing projects that range from packaging and textiles to artistic publications. It’s an honor to be one of the designers representing the Dominican Republic in this incredible archive and to share my creative vision on such an important platform.

Redefining Perceptions

To me, La Tina is more than an exhibition or a book. It is a movement. It is a celebration of Latin American talent and a testament to the depth, innovation, and resilience of our design culture. More than just a platform, La Tina is a bold statement, challenging outdated perceptions and reshaping how the world experiences design from our region.

Being included in this project is both an honor and a responsibility. It allows me to contribute to a larger narrative that amplifies the voices of Latin American and Caribbean creatives and highlights the richness, relevance, and global potential of our design heritage. Each piece, each story, and each perspective within La Tina reinforces that our creative expression is not just valid but vital.

As a Dominican designer, I take immense pride in being part of this collective story. La Tina is a reminder that design is more than aesthetics. It is about identity, storytelling, and connection. It is a bridge between tradition and innovation, history and future. Through this experience, I hope to inspire others to embrace their cultural roots, share their visions unapologetically, and recognize that our creativity has the power to transcend borders and reshape the world’s visual landscape.
