The La Tina project, which began as a printed celebration of Latin American female designers, has now taken its vibrant energy to a gallery setting. Featuring the work of 43 designers selected from the groundbreaking archive, the exhibition opened at IED Madrid Gran Vía, running from November 5th to 29th. This event brings together a curated selection of the region’s boldest, most innovative voices in design, offering the public a glimpse into the creativity, diversity, and ingenuity that define our generation of Latin American creators.
For me, standing among this extraordinary group of designers and seeing my work displayed on an international stage is an indescribably fulfilling experience. It’s a moment of pride, not only as a professional but also as someone representing the Dominican Republic in this remarkable collective. Being part of La Tina is more than a personal milestone; it’s a cultural achievement. It’s an opportunity to showcase the richness, depth, and vibrancy of Caribbean design within the broader context of Latin American creativity.

My work draws heavily from the vibrant culture of the Dominican Republic, blending elements of tradition with modern and innovative design approaches. It’s deeply rooted in the textures, colors, and stories of my heritage, but it also seeks to push boundaries and explore universal themes. Through this fusion, I aim to create designs that resonate on a global scale while staying authentic to my roots.
This exhibition serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of collective creativity. La Tina not only highlights individual talent but also amplifies the voice of an entire region, demonstrating that Latin American design is as daring and dynamic as it is diverse. Being part of this journey reaffirms my belief in the power of design to tell stories, build bridges, and celebrate the cultural richness that shapes who we are.
